Peter Drucker departed this earth yesterday, November 11, 2005 in Claremont, California. He was 95 years old. What was it that made Peter Drucker stand out? Besides being the author of several of my college textbooks, he was one of the world's highly esteemed visionary pioneers of modern business management, business economics, and business philosophy. I loved the way that he taught that management was more like conducting an orchestra than conducting a military unit.
Drucker understood the value of people and considered that the strengths and contributions they brought to the organization were more important than titles on an organizational chart.
Peter Drucker... Thank you for your contributions to this world. We will miss you and look forward to meeting you again one day when our time on this earth passes away.
