Some of my favorite cookbooks and travel books are the ones that feature regional
Bed and Breakfast businesses. I can’t identify it exactly, but there is something special about that which is associated with B & B’s. There is a certain spirit that is evoked, a sensibility, if you will, to a more genteel experience. Often set far from off the maddening crowds, there is that feeling of delicious tranquility and grace. When I fold together a batch of blueberry muffins, I can almost taste the Adirondacks region from where the recipe originated.
