One of the most essential things that needs to be done is to get filmmakers producing films of far greater quality.
There is so much trash out there.
Bang! Bang! Sells.
Sex Sells.
How can we get back to good clean fun in our movies and tv shows today?
Can we?
Remember the values of films and tv in the fifties? Can we turn back the hands of time?

Sure, bring on the futures broker! I intend to make a bundle and I will need the help of a financial planner to help me to make the most of my earnings.
I think it is a healthy experience for people to go through a drought or two in their lives. Having survived lean times is actually very equipping. We realize that we do NOT need all the things that the world throws at us.
Once upon a time, I bought into the Madison Avenues lies. But the problem is that nothing that Madison Avenue offers has any real ETERNAL value.
Why should someone spend thousands and thousands of dollars on a piece of clothing that can stain, tear, etc.
Is the person in the designer outfit strolling down Rodeo Drive or Worth Avenue any better than the mother in second hand Target jeans washing her families clothes in a laundromat?
Absolutely not.
The tragic thing is ... the terrible misuse of financial blessings.
Does God really want us to invest the money that he has allowed to flow into our lives for such frivolous things as couture garments.
What if instead .... we donated that money we would have spent for that to die for outfit, to dig a well in Africa that would provide fresh water to human beings?
What if instead ....we donated that money so that the local mother could have a washer and a dryer in her own home?
I want to challenge you to look for opportunities to bless someone else this week!

Agape Cove wouldn't be the sweet sanctuary it is without man's (or woman's) best friends.
It has been said that,"Diamonds are a women's best friend."
But in this case, I'd say Diamond and Ruby and Sapphire ... are positively the lady of Agape Cove's best friends!
Three beautiful golden retrievers who frolic in the warm salty waters and lounge on the manicured greens when they are not romping through the West Indies style villa fill this waterfront retreat with a great abundance of joy de vivre.
The latest discovery is a website and online community designed just for lovers of pets! Now how cool is that?
Why don't you check it out. I'm going to. I'm looking for other triplets and for hilarious stories of Marley-like antics to tickle my funny bone.
But I'm also looking for some practical advice, too.

From politics to acne products... I'll post about them all.
Actually some days, politics is about as attractive as a pimple.
Wouldn't it be nice if the public servants that the people elected, would work to serve the common people and not the special interests with bottom-feeding purposes.
As much as I enjoy following politics and its impact on our nation, some days I just want to opt out. I don't want to see the tragedy of once-upon-a-time good public servants, gone bad with ego and self-serving agendas.

Do travel supplies include taking along your own photographer and publicist?
They could! They could especially if your agenda is publicity.
The question begs to be asked... is it kosher for a politician, who happens to be a top elected state official, to engage in the comingling of state business with his own blatant and non-bearded aspirations for big-time political gain?
Savvy or stupid?
Where do you draw the line? And how do you sell a fat-cat European trip (that is costing the already over-burdened and stressed out taxpayers over 250,000 buckaroos) to the folks sweating it out back home?
Sorry Charlie, it doesn't fly. We need you here. I'm sure there is great benefit to be had on the other side of the ocean, especially in the growing of your international gravitas, but can't you do the vp stuff on your own dime?
Every family, every business understands that sure there are many things that they would like to do to improve their profitability, but if times are tight, they need to rethink their m.o.
Why doesn't government get this simple and elementary concept?
My advice to you is to get back to the core of who you represented yourself to be when you were elected to be our governor. We didn't elect you to run for vice president.
At one time, I believed that not only would you make a good vp, you would make a great president, when the timing was right. You would have had my vote, just as you had it in the last election.
Unfortunately, I can not see supporting a presidential ticket with your name on it. Sorry John. If the election were today, this Independent would vote Obama.

What's In The Little Black Box?
"Small business for sale" the sign in the window read.
"Look, look there is a business for sale!"
"Nice building. Love the pink and white striped awning."
"Let's check it out."
They pulled the convertible vw into a parking slot and hopped out.
"Baby, I don't think we want a biz that sells Halloween costumes! It might send the wrong message to the right wing evangelicals."

Ah yes! The Blessed Mansion In The Sky!
"Girl, I think your GPS is a bit off center!"
"Missy, I know exactly where I'm going!"
"I suppose you do. You have not done too bad for yourself," the chamber maid said as she scanned the palatial residence. "In a worldly sense. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."

For an engagement present, the polo prince gave the charming American couple matching saddles.
"Now there goes two brilliant political strategists!" He told his mum.
"Simply amazing and to think that they are not even blue-blooded royals. She reminds me a bit of your ex!"

If The Slipcover Fits...
"This is a beautiful set of fine and exquisite handcrafted slipcovers," she thought aloud.
Nothing internally would need to change, she could simply dress the sofas in the exciting new slipcovers for the season, then if she decided later that she grew bored with the pattern or fabric, she could yank them right off.
But for now, the slipcovers were perfect!

"Soul for sale?" the haunting voice inquired.
She covered her ears, but the voice could not be silenced.
It was the voice that had been with her since her earliest recollections. It had always been there to warn her of impending disaster.
Sometimes she heeded the message, sometimes she didn't.
Yet, she couldn't deny it's power or purpose. It was a voice of love and reason. It was a voice that if abided with- the extraordinary would follow.
But now she stood poised at a crossroads with one foot in each realm. She had to make a decision.
Would she go for the worldly glory that could easily be hers.... or would she listen and follow that higher call?

With eyes sparkling like a duet of diamond rings she sang, "Yes, yes! I'll marry you!"
But later that evening as she brushed her long locks, a tear dripped down her left cheek.
An existential schism was dividing her soul.
This marriage proposal had two faces.

"Rain Down On Me!" Is that a lyric of a song? Or perhaps the petition of a prayer? Or is it both?
Funny how I can hear the lyrics playing across my imagination, but can't quite remember if it is part of a song, perhaps from either a classic worship hymnal or a lyric from some jazzy contemporary song.
At any rate, "Rain Down On Me!" is a beautiful petition. To me it means: "Lord, wash me and clean me and make me anew with your love so that perhaps I can go out into a lost and broken world and rain down your love in thirsty and parched soils."

Agape Cove is a fictional place, but it doesn't have to be. Agape Cove is an idyllic place, set in my imagination down where the palm trees grow. But it is not in the Miami or Palm Beach area. Agape Cove is further south. It is on the way to Key West.
Back a few years ago I began writing a story that I titled Agape Cove. It was a wonderful experience, while my story was interesting and rich in original details, I believed that there was much I needed to learn about the art of writing. So for me---- Agape Cove was an exercise for my own benefit. I never submitted the manuscript to publishers. Perhaps one day... stay tuned!

I'm very excited! After all this time, I've come up with a doable idea on how I can incorporate the original Agape Cove Living concept into a book project with universal appeal. I really think I'm on to something. If it goes as I believe it will.... it will be HUGE!
I've always thought that you could have a brilliant idea... but the context just didn't work.
Well, with the help of God... this context WILL work in extraordinary ways.
I truly believe that we are all here for some magnificent divine purpose and our job is to figure out what that purpose is and to seek the almighty in manifesting it. But you know, I've met up with my share of red herrings along the way. Actually, too many red herrings. We just have to pray that the red herrings don't throw us off course too far and that in the overall plan they contribute something of value to the process.
Please won't you pray for me and for this new project that it will be of and for God's glory!
Thank You! Thanks for reading!

I like symbolism. I've always liked symbolism. Throughout my entire life I've had this strange and beautiful connection to symbols.
Symbols encourage me and give me hope. They whisper beautiful things to me- often these are things that no one else could possibly understand. So I keep the message deep in my heart.
Bernie would say with a great depth of conviction in his words, "A little birdie told me."
The extraordinary thing is that even though Bernie has left this mortal world for new mountain ranges, "his birdie" lives on.
Perhaps "his birdie" is my special inheritance!
His birdie is telling me things beyond my wildest imagination. I suppose the key to their manifestation is in simply BELIEVING!

Why stay in cheap hotels when you can stay at the Ritz?
The choice is yours!
I'd prefer 1000 thread count sheets and truffles on my pillow any night to roughing it!
Imagine... what if you could stay at the resort of your dreams for less than you'd pay to stay at a roadside dive? Possible? Maybe. Maybe not.
I think the real key is sitting on the ring- the golden ring ready to be grabbed. Do you have what it takes to grab hold of it? Do you believe in yourself? Can you visualize it?
It doesn't have to be a hotel room. No. No, not at all. The hotel room is just a symbol... fill in the blank with whatever it is you want. Then go ahead and give it everything you've got. Go for it like you've never gone for anything ever before! YOU CAN DO IT!!

Twenty Wishes...
When I was at Costco the other day I picked up a few good yarns. One of them is titled, "Twenty Wishes" ....
As I go about my morning chores, I think about some of the different characters that bring this story to life.
When an author can develop his or her characters with a depth that gets the reader truly caring about what happens, the author has done a good job in my opinion.
So many times I've read a book and three days later I can not even draw the characters to mind because they simply were not memorable enough. Maybe they didn't seem real. Perhaps they were more like stick figures. Perhaps they lacked an in-depth character development by the author that called me to care about them.
But in this book how can you not care for little Ellen? bathroom lighting

Sitting at my desk while listening to NPR, I can't help to be distracted by the topic of the hour.
The subject is about a new service that may soon be offered in New York City. This service is for a new ambulance service for organ donation.
Having had a loved one who died in queu while awaiting an organ transplant, it is impossible for me to not have a rather strong emotional response to this radio conversation.
Part of me embraces the concept, but another part of me is filled with deep concern. My over-the-top imagination is quick to dream up scenarios that might play out well in a suspense thriller, but would be a total nightmare in reality.
At any rate the very idea could be fodder for a great fast-paced contemporary book with movie rights!

With gas prices soaring to unbelievable record highs, I start to think about different ways to limit my gasoline consumption.
While some gas usage is unavoidable, other usage becomes far too frivolous.
I've become a master at consolidating my errands and limiting my 35 mile plus round trip jaunts to Tallahassee to a couple times a week. No more daily trips to the capital city for me!
Yep, I'm doing my part to conserve energy! If I need something that isn't available in town, I've discovered websites that don't cost me a dime in gas to shop at. Kudos to the world wide web as an extraordinary resource for conserving energy!
