From politics to acne products... I'll post about them all.

Actually some days, politics is about as attractive as a pimple.

Wouldn't it be nice if the public servants that the people elected, would work to serve the common people and not the special interests with bottom-feeding purposes.

As much as I enjoy following politics and its impact on our nation, some days I just want to opt out. I don't want to see the tragedy of once-upon-a-time good public servants, gone bad with ego and self-serving agendas.

Do travel supplies include taking along your own photographer and publicist?

They could! They could especially if your agenda is publicity.

The question begs to be asked... is it kosher for a politician, who happens to be a top elected state official, to engage in the comingling of state business with his own blatant and non-bearded aspirations for big-time political gain?

Savvy or stupid?

Where do you draw the line? And how do you sell a fat-cat European trip (that is costing the already over-burdened and stressed out taxpayers over 250,000 buckaroos) to the folks sweating it out back home?

Sorry Charlie, it doesn't fly. We need you here. I'm sure there is great benefit to be had on the other side of the ocean, especially in the growing of your international gravitas, but can't you do the vp stuff on your own dime?

Every family, every business understands that sure there are many things that they would like to do to improve their profitability, but if times are tight, they need to rethink their m.o.
Why doesn't government get this simple and elementary concept?

My advice to you is to get back to the core of who you represented yourself to be when you were elected to be our governor. We didn't elect you to run for vice president.

At one time, I believed that not only would you make a good vp, you would make a great president, when the timing was right. You would have had my vote, just as you had it in the last election.

Unfortunately, I can not see supporting a presidential ticket with your name on it. Sorry John. If the election were today, this Independent would vote Obama.

What's In The Little Black Box?

What's In The Little Black Box?

Beautiful fresh water pearls from Pearl Paradise.

I love them! The colors are magnificent! Every time I wear them I receive compliments.

Produced from various species of Chinese fresh water oysters.

"Small business for sale" the sign in the window read.

"Look, look there is a business for sale!"

"Nice building. Love the pink and white striped awning."

"Let's check it out."

They pulled the convertible vw into a parking slot and hopped out.

"Baby, I don't think we want a biz that sells Halloween costumes! It might send the wrong message to the right wing evangelicals."

Ah yes! The Blessed Mansion In The Sky!

"Girl, I think your GPS is a bit off center!"

"Missy, I know exactly where I'm going!"

"I suppose you do. You have not done too bad for yourself," the chamber maid said as she scanned the palatial residence. "In a worldly sense. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."

"Ah yes, the blessed Mansion in The Sky!"
For an engagement present, the polo prince gave the charming American couple matching saddles.

"Now there goes two brilliant political strategists!" He told his mum.

"Simply amazing and to think that they are not even blue-blooded royals. She reminds me a bit of your ex!"

If The Slipcover Fits...

"This is a beautiful set of fine and exquisite handcrafted slipcovers," she thought aloud.

Nothing internally would need to change, she could simply dress the sofas in the exciting new slipcovers for the season, then if she decided later that she grew bored with the pattern or fabric, she could yank them right off.

But for now, the slipcovers were perfect!
"Soul for sale?" the haunting voice inquired.

She covered her ears, but the voice could not be silenced.

It was the voice that had been with her since her earliest recollections. It had always been there to warn her of impending disaster.

Sometimes she heeded the message, sometimes she didn't.

Yet, she couldn't deny it's power or purpose. It was a voice of love and reason. It was a voice that if abided with- the extraordinary would follow.

But now she stood poised at a crossroads with one foot in each realm. She had to make a decision.

Would she go for the worldly glory that could easily be hers.... or would she listen and follow that higher call?
With eyes sparkling like a duet of diamond rings she sang, "Yes, yes! I'll marry you!"

But later that evening as she brushed her long locks, a tear dripped down her left cheek.

An existential schism was dividing her soul.

This marriage proposal had two faces.
