Family Bible Time

"There is NO space between us!" declared the mother. It was an emotion packed defining moment in a great movie with a powerful lingering message.

In a day and age when so many movies offer so little value, here was one with food for thought based on something more than the satisfying of temporary hunger. Since watching that movie last week, the mother's adamant declaration to her young daughter has sent ripples echoing through my soul..."There is NO space between us!"

Is there space between you and the people that you love? What sort of space is it? Is it the kind of space that you really want? Or would you like to be closer?

Family Bible Time is an extraordinary way that your family can draw close together. It is a time to cast aside the ways of the world and focus on what really is important. We live in a world that puts a premium on things that are hindrances to family closeness. When you step back and take a look at your life, what do you see? Do you see space or do you see closeness? Do you see your family spending quality time together having fun and growing together? Or do you see everyone going off in separate directions creating more and more space?

To some it may sound too old fashioned or too impractical or too out of step with the times. However, I believe that when done in a loving, encouraging, relevant, and fun way ... Family Bible Time will become your families most cherished time together.

In this season of Thanksgiving, why not take some time to rethink your priorities? Set aside a time daily (or at least weekly) to join together with your family for a treasure hunt. The Bible is overflowing with hidden treasures for you and your family to discover together!

Why do we buy the world's lies? Why do we put more emphasis on acquiring things that have no possible way of saving us than we do on building a deep relationship with the Creator of the entire universe? There is no comparison!
This is the message that we need to teach our children. We need to teach our children how to have a real relationship with their creator.
